Scheduling and Preparing for Surgery

Surgery is a very trying time for everyone. We strive to make your surgical experience and procedure as stress-free as possible, no matter how minor or major the surgery. Listed below are a few instructions to help you schedule and prepare for surgery.

After your office visit, we will work with you to set a surgery time that best fits your schedule.

We will call your insurance company and notify them of your scheduled surgery.

If you take a blood thinner (Coumadin, Aspirin, Plavix, etc.), you will be asked to stop taking that medication several days before surgery.

You will call our office the day before surgery for your check-in time.

You must be NPO before your surgery. This means you must not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery.

You will need to take all insurance and medication information with you to the hospital.

Please leave all valuables at home.

Wear loose, comfortable clothes that are easy to get into after your surgery.

A family member of friend will need to drive you home after surgery.
